For the inaugural Independent Cup, each region operates independently and makes decisions autonomously.
We believe in creating opportunities for clubs to advance based on performance — to step up and prove they are champions.
A first of its kind. A cup for only independent clubs. Teams from multiple leagues will convene at a regional stadium, play each other in a series of matches, and prove on the pitch who is regional champion.
We will be taking COVID-19 precautions, including playing behind closed doors where restrictions apply.
All other details are agreed upon at the regional level among the clubs.
Cup Structure and Guidelines
GREAT LAKES
The Great Lakes Region will compete in a Round-robin competition. All ties will be resolved by going straight to a best of 5 penalties, followed by sudden death penalties. Champion will be determined by most points, followed by head-to head, followed by goal differential.

Subs: 7 (no re-entry)
MID-ATLANTIC
The Mid-Atlantic will complete in a round-robin competition. The Mid-Atlantic Champion will be determined by most points, followed by head-to head, followed by goal differential.

CENTRAL PLAINS
Gaffa FC and Louisiana Krewe FC will play two matches; winner will be determined by aggregate.
Revolution SC and Lone Star Republic will play two matches; winner will be determined by aggregate.
Away goals will NOT be a determining factor of Aggregate. If still tied, teams will play two 10-minute overtime periods. If still tied penalties (5 shots aside). If still tied continued penalties sudden death format.
Winner of each Aggregate competition will meet in the Championship match

SOUTHEAST
The Southeast Region will compete in an unbalanced round-robin competition at three locations. The Southeast Regional Champion will be determined by a Championship game that pins 1st seed against 2nd seed.
