Play Begins in Spring 2022, Community Involvement Starts Now
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (October 26, 2021) – AC Syracuse Pulse today earned a spot in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) after approval by the Board of Governors. While the club begins play in 2022, its presence in the community will be felt even sooner.
"AC Syracuse Pulse is proud to be positively impacting the community, from amazing soccer experiences to youth development and economic growth," said Samir Belhseine, president of AC Syracuse Pulse during a celebratory event today here. “We have professional soccer players from around the United States excited to fulfill their dream of playing for a club in their own country. At the same time, we are extending tryouts for soccer players in the Syracuse area, right here in their own backyard, so they hopefully can also have an opportunity to live the dream of playing professional soccer."
Tryouts will begin Nov. 20. Also, AC Syracuse will be holding an open house for youth soccer for AC Syracuse Pulse Youth Academy (registrations for camps and clinics) in November.
“I am thrilled for AC Syracuse’s accepted membership into NISA,” said NISA Executive Vice President Josh Prutch. “The Ownership group has been working tirelessly, since submitting their application, building out their management team, their partnerships, and their sponsors to bring an authentic professional soccer Club to Syracuse.”
AC Syracuse will call 2,000-seat Lazer Stadium at Onondaga Community College home. The club also recently named Cláudio Garcia its head coach and director of coaching.
