WHAT: The National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) Independent Cup has released the schedule for the 2022 tournament – 36 clubs spread across nine regions. The 27 amateur clubs come from nine different amateur leagues, many of those from amateur leagues that have forged affiliations with NISA in the past two years. The tournament is formatted as a round robin tournament between the three amateur clubs in each region using a 10-point system. The winner of that round-robin earns $3,000 and a spot playing the NISA professional club for the regional championship. The winner of each region earns $4,000.
WHEN: Play begins TOMORROW, June 21, with Lansing Common FC v. Metro Louisville FC in the Great Lakes Region. Matches are scheduled for play through July 30.
