Fresh Off Purchase of Andorra-Based FC Santa Coloma,
a New Pro Face in Detroit
DETROIT (July 23, 2022) – Gold Star FC is the latest organization to gain approval to join the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA). Located in the Metro Detroit area, Gold Star FC is a division of Gold Star Sports Management, which just announced the purchase of UEFA Champions League regular FC Santa Coloma – a celebrated club based in the country of Andorra on the Iberian Peninsula. Gold Star FC expects to field a club to begin play in 2023.
Gold Star FC is a part of The Gold Star Family of Companies, a 49-office global organization that includes mortgage lender Gold Star Financial, Gold Star Publishing, and sports management agency Gold Star Hockey. It is led by Founder and CEO Dan Milstein.

Gold Star Hockey is one of the most prolific, respected and valued firms in sports management with more than 200 clients, including 50 NHL players – such as two-time Stanley Cup champions Nikita Kucherov, Andrei Vasilevskiy and Mikhail Sergachev; former Detroit Red Wings great Pavel Datsyuk; and current Edmonton Oiler Evander Kane. In the 2022 NHL Draft- Gold Star had 15 players selected. They signed more than $160 million worth of contracts in one day of NHL Free Agency – a league record.
Milstein is joined by Gold Star FC CEO Alex Lubyansky, a sports attorney and University of Michigan alumnus. His playing, coaching and front office experiences have spanned multiple continents.
