Financial Constraints Force NISA Club Bay Cities FC to Suspend Operations

Aug 26, 2022

CHICAGO (August 26, 2022) – Today the National Independent Soccer Association announced Bay Cities FC suspended operations for the balance of the 2022 season due to financial constraints. Bay Cities home match versus Cal United Strikers set for this weekend has been canceled. NISA and the club are now focused on finding a new primary team owner.

“We are definitely disappointed that Bay Cities FC needed to make this decision,” said NISA Commissioner John Prutch. “This is difficult for everyone across the NISA landscape.”

NISA has revised the 2022 schedule and table with the eight remaining clubs. The competition committee has revised the table to reflect the following:

  • The league is now condensed into a single table
  • The standings have been revised using an average-points per game total (points earned divided by matches played)
  • The results of all Bay Cities FC matches have been left intact

The league will complete the season with a single table format. The playoffs still will include the top six clubs with the top two clubs earning a bye.

Current Table (as it sits today):
