CHICAGO (October 17, 2023) – After an investigation involving video review and interviews, the National Independent Soccer Association Fri., Oct 13, suspended players and coaches from Los Angeles Force (LAF) and Michigan Stars FC (MSFC) for their roles in the post-match fight October 12. Each club also was fined. Suspensions include the playoffs and will carry over to the 2024 season.
“The league office cannot stress enough how this type of conduct and behavior cannot be tolerated,” said Commissioner John Prutch. “There is no exception for what occurred, and our expectation is that the severity of the suspensions and fines will be a deterrent from it happening again.”
Host MSFC won the match 1-0. MSFC’s suspensions were in place for Sunday’s 2-2 draw at ALBION San Diego. Its final two regular season matches are Oct. 18 and 21 at Club de Lyon FC. LAF next play Oct. 21 at home against Gold Star FC Detroit.
