The National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) unveiled a new brand campaign, including a new identity, reflecting the league's transformation of its culture and a redefined strategy focused solely on the global future of soccer. NISA's new look and feel represents a commitment to innovation and the league's role and purpose of powering an open system for all.
Ahead of the NISA Pro Cup in early October, NISA is focused on fostering entry-level professional soccer in any town in the United States with solutions in three areas - operations, experience and a dedicated staff of soccer-first people. NISA is bringing together a new foundation of leaders to enhance its business services and deliver on the promise of an open system for players and clubs.
"While our business has transformed dramatically over the past few years, it became clear that perceptions of the league needed to change," NISA Media Consultant Dennis Pope said. "The rebranding marks a new NISA both inside the league and out, with a strategy hyper-focused on the global game and the changing soccer media environment. NISA's core values of inclusion, courage and growth, along with its clear strategy, will power the league's transformation as we continue to affiliate with U.S. Soccer and partner with regional premier leagues to create an open path to professionalism."
The new brand identity will be unveiled on the field during the NISA Pro Cup, which will be held in early October. Signage showcasing the elements of the rebranding will be prominently displayed around the championship pitch. NISA also will host a Pro Cup Media Day ahead of the tournament, which will feature the new logo, images and colors, in line with the company's new brand identity.
Initial elements of NISA's brand evolution include:
New Logo: As a prominent representation of the league, people and brand, the new logo is sturdy, stable and smart. Inspired by the NISA logos both old and new, the border is open at the corners to represent the open system, signifying progression of leagues and clubs. The three red bars represent the third tier, NISA’s established place in U.S. Soccer.
New Brand Colors: The fresh color palette speaks to the investment in diversity and richness of soccer culture. The blue represents our enduring National and Independent nature. The red represents our commitment to the nation’s historic Soccer Associations.
New Brand Purpose Statement: Pure Soccer Opportunity.
