WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, MI (October 21, 2025) - In a stunning overtime display, Joel Quist wrapped up a tournament performance to remember.

Quist scored twice in the first overtime period and Los Angeles Force went on to defeat Capo FC 4-1 on Tuesday in the NISA Pro Cup Championship Final at Michigan Stars Sports Complex.

"It's a brotherhood and us just staying together no matter what happens," Quist said. "We have each other's backs no matter what, and that's what I'm most proud of."

Quist led the tournament with five goals to earn both the NISA Pro Cup Golden Boot and the Golden Ball, awarded to the top player in the competition.

"We're a bunch of guys who know that we deserve to play at the next level," Quist said. "We're all hungry and we know what we have to do. Us having that one end goal helps us rise above any circumstance." 

Tied 1-1 after 90 minutes, Quist broke through Capo FC's backline and went around goalkeeper Edwyn Gutierrez before slotting the ball inside the far post for a 2-1 lead in the 96th minute.

Running at Capo FC's backline 4 minutes later, Quist slide to push across his second goal for a commanding 3-1 lead to help L.A. Force list its second consecutive league trophy.

"I mainly stayed more narrow and more direct, and my teammates played the ball to my feet," Quist said. "They say my runs, passed me the ball and I did what I had to do."

Assisted by Aydan Bowers' header back into the box, Michael Salazar gave L.A. Force a 1-0 lead early in the second half.

Reduced to 10 players after centerback Manuell Kariuki received his second yellow card, Capo FC fought back to equalize on midfield substitute Daniel Moreno's second goal of the tournament.

Quist's pace proved pivotal in the first overtime, and Bryan Ortega added an insurance goal in the second overtime as L.A. Force defeated Capo FC for the first time this Fall Season after back-to-back 1-1 draws in NISA Nation Southwest Region head-to-heads.
