Andres Chalbaud, a native of Valencia-Venezuela, is thrilled to join the Michigan Stars FC.

Chalbaud spent his last season of 2019 playing for AFC Ann Arbor in the NPSL Great Lakes Conference. He played an important role as a center midfielder, and also as a right/left winger. Chalbaud helped AFC Ann Arbor place 2nd in the overall Great Lakes conference table (9-2-3), and helped them earn a spot in the 2019 NPSL playoffs. Chalbaud received once ‘player of the match’ award, and recorded 2 goals and 2 assists for AFC Ann Arbor. He also played in the Michigan Milk Cup, helping AFC Ann Arbor reach the semifinal.

Before playing for AFC Ann Arbor, Chalbaud played his last two collegiate seasons for Central Methodist University (CMU) men’s soccer program. Chalbaud spent his first two collegiate seasons playing at Parkland College.

At CMU, Chalbaud earned Heart of America All-Conference Team honors, while also leading the Eagles to a national ranking for the first time in program’s history. Seeing action in 33 games over both seasons, Chalbaud scored eight goals and recorded 10 assists in his career at CMU. He also received Varsity Athletic honors as a junior and as a senior.

While at Parkland, Chalbaud earned First-Team All-Conference honors twice, while also being named First Team All-Region. He played an integral part on the team that won the 2013 M-WAC Conference Championship. Throughout two seasons, Chalbaud recorded 20 goals.

In addition to playing collegiate soccer, Chalbaud played three seasons for the Chicago Fire Academy. While playing for the Chicago Fire Academy U-18s, Chalbaud led the team to a Charleston Battery Cup championship, while also guiding the team to the national tournament in Dallas, Texas.

In the summer of 2014, Chalbaud led the Chicago Fire Academy U-19s team to the State Cup Championship, while also guiding the U-20s to the national tournament in Sarasota, Florida. He was also called up to play one game with the Chicago Fire PDL team (U-23s).

Growing up in Venezuela, Chalbaud played for Hermandad Gallega de Valencia (HGV), which is regarded as one of the best youth soccer teams in Venezuela. He started playing for HGV when he was five years old, and played there until he turned 15.
